AMY WINDSOR - OWNER AND PET STYLIST
For as long as she can remember Amy wanted to work with animals. She began her career in the pet care industry in 2004 and knew this was what she wanted to do with her life. In 2011 Amy started her grooming career, as a bather, moving up to become a certified pet stylist in less than six months. After spending years with a corporate pet store, she dreamed of a salon that put dogs first—ensuring their safety, needs, and comfort above all else. Her commitment to prioritizing the well-being of every pet led her to establish our grooming salon. As both owner and groomer, Amy's love for dogs drives everything we do. Her skills include top-quality grooms, unbelievable customer service, and finding something sweet about every pup she meets. Her favorite breeds to groom are Pomeranians and Shih-Tzus.
ELYSSA - GROOMER & SALON MANAGER
Elyssa has been grooming since 2017 and was trained under Amy. Her skills include spectacular attention to detail in each and every groom, patience with even the wiggliest puppy, and speaking Spanish. Her favorite breed to groom is anything ending in “oodle”. Elyssa is our pet color specialist, and she is also on her way to becoming a Certified Pet Aesthetician.
Sydney - Groomer
Sydney began working in the animal care industry in 2008 in her home state of Michigan. She specializes in pups that need a little extra attention, whether that be older dogs, dogs with medical issues, or just anxious pups, Sydney is the groomer for you. She will treat your pup like one of her own, and do everything she can to make them comfortable while they are in our care. Her favorite breed to groom is the Golden Retriever.
Wendy - Groomer
Wendy is a seasoned professional with two decades of experience in grooming salons, having worked in both veterinary hospitals and retail settings. Her extensive tenure has equipped her with a diverse skill set, allowing her to deliver impeccable pet grooms characterized by meticulous attention to detail. Wendy excels in time management, ensuring efficient service delivery without compromising quality. Her dedication to client satisfaction is evident through her strong customer service skills, consistently providing exceptional experiences for both pets and their owners. She enjoys grooming all Terrier-type breeds, and she is also our one and only cat groomer!
Re’shawn - Groomer
With a passion for pet care that ignited in 2010, Re'shawn embarked on her journey in the industry as a bather. Over the years, her dedication and love for animals led her to explore various roles within the pet care domain. Through her commitment and hard work, she steadily progressed to become a certified pet stylist, showcasing her exceptional skills and expertise in grooming. Re'shawn specializes in outline trims and de-shedding, offering meticulous attention to detail in her craft.
Serenity - Grooming Apprentice
Serenity has been an animal lover her entire life, she started by asking her neighbors if she could wash their dogs when she was only around 7 years old. She began her grooming career in 2009 as a bather and started apprenticing with us at Hair of the Dog at the beginning of 2022. Her favorite breeds to work with are Lab/Shepherd mixes, as well as Pugs and French Bulldogs.
Certifications
All of our groomers are AKC S.A.F.E. certified groomers. Our team members are all also Pet CPR and First Aid certified as well as Skin and Coat certified. We all now have the knowledge on how to properly maintain your pet’s skin and coat. After taking this course we made the decision to switch all of our products so that we can tailor each appointment to the needs of your individual pet when it comes to maintaining a healthy coat and skin.
We are all extremely passionate about the pets in our care, their well-being, and their safety. In an ever-changing and growing industry, we attend yearly seminars to stay up to date on our education, the latest grooming techniques, pet safety, and communication.
